Denise is a lifelong resident of the West End of Louisville KY. She was educated in the Jefferson County Public School system and is a graduate of Indiana University-Southeast and Campbellsville University.
Since she was a child, Denise has always felt a kinship to those in the West End of Louisville communities she has lived and also those of neighboring communities as well. Denise has always been invested in improving community conditions for Louisville.
As a young adult in the city and empowered by a deep sense of both appreciation and responsibility she forged a path as an emerging leader. Denise has been involved in Youth Alive, Sisters for Life, West Louisville Urban Coalition and other noteworthy organizations that have had tremendous impact those underprivileged and underserved throughout her community.
Her extensive history in community development is what led to a path of public service. Denise has a heart to serve her city and state, along with the individuals that make up the whole to improve the conditions of all people begining with those she will serve in 43rd district. She is one that early in life developed her passion for the protection and preservation of the city’s heritage and culture which is why to this day she places the TOTALITY of the city at her core.
Her perspective is very unique in having gone through many of life’s challenges including being a young mother, small business owner, community leader, among other things. This perspective is what she will use to guide her in representing her constituents in the 43rd district.
